Comcast adds ESPNU and ESPN360. Changes sports channels around

Comcast has made some moves that will make life easier for cable fans in the area to follow their favorite sports.
The NFL Network, NBA TV and the NHL Network have all been moved from the pay Sports Package to the Classic Digital service.
The big news is that Comcast added ESPU which has all the local colleges with the exception of Navy under contract. They have been the home to college lacrosse, soccer and a number of local women’s sports.
As college football season is coming the end of the month we will have a chance to see all the ESPN family networks on Comcast.
ESPN360 broadband is really a great deal and if you have either Comcast or Verizon as your internet service provider then you will have access to tons of great sports.
If you have never seen ESPN 360 then you are in for a treat. Your computer screen has one large window and up to five small one that allows to watch up to six events at one time. You can change to full screen the one of most interest full screen if you like. For instance I was watching tennis in the main screen while at the same time the Rays-Yanks, Bayern Munich vs. AC Milan and Manchester United vs. Boca Juniors were being replayed on the small screens. The events are there on demand so if you missed something you can come back and catch it whenever you have the time.
This month viewers will be able to watch ESPN Monday, Wednesday and Sunday Night Baseball, the Little League World Series, The Summer X Games, the start of the college football season, the U.S. Open tennis, plus lots of quality soccer.
College football weekends are great because I enjoy the ability to choose between as many as six games at one time. I can watch the Miami game while checking out an SEC, BIG TEN, or Big 12 game all without ever turning on the TV.
In the past we have not been able to see a Georgetown basketball game or a Virginia lacrosse game or a Maryland women’s basketball game because it was not offered on an ESPN network that Comcast carried. That is no longer the case with ESPN 360 we have access to all those sports.
Here is the thing ESPN 360 will never replace watching a game on a nice high definition screen but it gives you options. I like that it is portable and so I can take my laptop places that I don’t have cable and still follow the games.
Washington is an international city and ESPN 360 gives fans access to cricket, rugby as well as other sports that you may not have had access to before.
You really need to check it out.
