Donnie Warrens long tenure with the Redskins is over. The former tight end turned scout was fired. Warren served as a pro scout for the past five seasons, evaluating talent in both the NFL and CFL. Warren joined the team one year after Joe Gibbs returned as coach.

The Redskins also fired Russ Bollinger, who spent he past five seasons as a national scout. And there could be more changes coming to their scouting department.

Warren obviously is better known for his days as a Redskins tight end. He played the position from 1979 to 1992, finishing with 244 career receptions. His 193 career games are fourth most in franchise history and in 2002 he was named as one of the 70 greatest Redskins. The Redskins hired Richard Mann II, who coached receivers in Washington during the 2001 season, as a scout.
