The Audacity of Ha-Ha
The Democratic convention is full of people who think that Barack Obama would make the best president. But they also think he’d make the best comedian, too.
Just ask two of his funniest supporters: Saturday Night Live cast member Fred Armisen (who impersonates Obama on the show) and former SNL cast member Chevy Chase.
“Obama’s got a great sense of humor,” Armisen told Yeas & Nays, adding that he hasn’t had a chance to do his impersonation of Obama in front of the Democratic nominee. “And surprisingly, I haven’t had a lot of requests to do it while I’ve been out here.”
But that could change. “Would you do your impersonation at a potential Obama inauguration?” we asked. “Hell, yes,” Armisen said enthusiastically.
As for Chevy, he was quick and to the point. “Obama’s a funny guy.” And McCain? “Please…”
