The 6-foot-7 Lewis burst onto the national scene during the Patriots? run to the Final Four of last month?s NCAA Tournament.
But last Thursday he worked out for National Football League scouts at an indoorfacility in Alexandria, Va. “I hope the scouts see I have potential. I can pick it up real quick,” Lewis told reporters after he worked out.
Lewis was not a highly-recruited hoop product out of high school, where he helped lead coach Richard Hart?s Eagles to a 2A state title during his junior year.
At Mason, Lewis was named to the All-CAA Rookie Team as a freshman, before earning All-CAA First Team honors as a sophomore, Second Team as a junior and First Team again as a senior.
He averaged 13.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per game last season.
