USL sked in limbo due to troubled team

The USL2 2009 schedule was supposed to be released last week, and I’m hearing it will finally happen on Wednesday. However, as one unnamed club official put it to me, “It may have eight teams, or it may have nine.”

You may remember two years ago, when the Virginia Beach Mariners promptly shut their doors just before the season started.

I’m investigating at the moment, but according to my research, neither Real Maryland, Crystal Palace USA or Richmond is the troubled club in question. That leaves, in alphabetical order, Bermuda, Charlotte, Harrisburg, Pittsburgh, Western Mass., and Wilmington.
