NFL, Border Patrol kiss, make up

Tom Tancredo will be happy. The Colorado congressman — and big-time pusher of strict immigration

policies — was frustrated last year when  the Super Bowl would not allow an ad by the Border Patrol

in its game program. The NFL objected  to  some  strong  language, such as “It’ll be your responsibil-

ity to prevent the entry of terrorists  and  their  weapons  into  the AP United States.”

When the NFL sent the ad back to the Border Patrol and asked for a change in the language, the patrol never resubmitted the ad.

Well, looks as if some things can get resolved: The NFL confirms to Yeas & Nays that this year’s Super Bowl program will, in fact, include an ad from the Border Patrol.

Which, of course, means that, at the Super Bowl, even the program can’t escape politics.
