It has been three years since Ravens running back Jamal Lewis followed through on his promise to break the NFL record for rushing yards in a game against the Cleveland Browns.
Back then, Lewis had a pregame conversation with Browns linebacker Andra Davis, who said he wanted Lewis to touch the ball 30 times. Lewis followed through and broke the record with an astounding 295-yard day.

On Wednesday, Lewis said the wheels have been set in motion for another conversation.
“Actually, my friend that set up that phone call the last time called me and said, ?What are you going to do?? ” Lewis said. “I said, ?I don?t know. I?m not playing those games this year.? Everybody is going to make a big deal out of that, I?m sure.”
Lewis said he is on a constant quest to find the formula of that magical day.
“Every day, you line up trying to do the same things you did that day, that went out and got those yards,” Lewis said. “But, hey, sometimes it?s fate and it just happens.”
Three years later, Lewis is sharing the load with two other running backs, Musa Smith and Mike Anderson, and he said that suits him just fine.
Ravens head coach Brian Billick said each running back has their own subtle differences.
“Musa?s a little more of a slashing back,” Billick said. “Mike?s a little more of the cutback. Jamal?s the cutback but with power, so there?s subtlety to each of them. I?m glad we have each.”
Thomas snubbed: Ravens linebacker Adalius Thomas continues to be overlooked. This time, the linebacker was not named AFC defensive player of the week despite registering two sacks, a safety, an interception and seven tackles against Oakland Sunday. Jacksonville cornerback Rashean Mathis won it for two interceptions in the fourth quarter in a win over the Steelers.
Landry grows up: The baptism by fire of rookie safety Dawan Landry has paid off in spades for the Ravens.
Billick has been effusive in his praise of the fifth-round pick, often saying the NFL is “not too big for him.”
Landry totaled eight tackles last Sunday, including a particularly bruising one on the Raiders? Alvis Whitted.
“It just felt good to make a play,” Landry said of the hit.
Landry said he?s flattered by Billick?s praise.
“I?ve been feeling comfortable,” Landry said. “It?s just making me feel more accountable now because that?s what he expects of us.”
Injury report: The Ravens have listed defensive tackle Aubrayo Franklin (thigh), Lewis (thigh), linebacker Ray Lewis (neck), defensive tackle Haloti Ngata (back), offensive tackle Jonathan Ogden (knee), cornerback Samari Rolle (ankle), Smith (knee) and Thomas (foot) as questionable.
The Browns have ruled defensive tackle Nick Eason (ankle) out for the game. Cornerback Gary Baxter (pectoral), tight end Darnell Dinkins (hamstring), wide receiver Joe Jurevicius (ribs) and defensive end Orpheus Roye (shoulder) are all doubtful. Running back Reuben Droughns (shoulder), linebacker Willie McGinest (calf) and safety Brian Russell (elbow) are probable. Tight end Kellen Winslow (knee) is probable.
