Billick headed to a TV job. Ravens former coach a broadcasting natural.

Brian Billick is well spoken, funny, insightful and a natural when it comes to broadcasting so it is no wonder that ESPN,CBS and the NFL Network all have their sights on him.

So while the Ravens may not want Biillick he is a hot commodity in the broadcast business.

Billick was bought out by the team and has at least $10 million dollars in the bank from the parting of the ways will likely take a broadcasting job.

Industry sources told me that Billick could be talking to  ESPN,CBS and the NFL Network before the weekend and it is possible that he could even be added a media outlet before the playoffs open this Saturday.

My sources tell me that Billick could be Bill Parcells replacement at ESPN. “The Tuna,” left the network last week to become an executive with the Miami Dolphins.

ESPN executives have always liked Billick and that they see him as an analyst both on TV, radio and ESPN broadband in short he is a natural replacement for Parcells..

My sources told me that Billick’s name was in the NFL Playoff mix even if he were to stay with the team and that he was a candidate at both ESPN and CBS as a guest analyst before he was let go by the Ravens.

CBS who owns the AFC broadcast rights and handles the majority of the Ravens games could add Billick to their pre game show if Bill Cowher leaves to get back into coaching.

As we know at least two teams the Ravens and the Falcons are going to talk to the former Steelers boss.

The NFL Today team of James Brown, Dan Marino, and Boomer Esiason might be a good fit for Billick and again he is well thought of by CBS.

There is an outside chance that Billick could end up as a game analyst for CBS but that is only if Cowher stays and Billick does not choose to go to ESPN.

Smart money has Billick replacing Parcells at ESPN providing that the former Ravens coach wants to take some time off and become part of the media.

Billickat ESPN would give him max exposure with a number of Sunday and Monday NFL Shows that could use his talents as an analyst.

So the Ravens may not have made the playoffs but clearly if Billick wants to be involved it seems he will have ample opportunity.

Speaking of the playoffs this weekend NBC will have the Saturday games with Tom Hammond and Cris Collinsworth doing the Redskins – Seahawks game at 4:30pm. The team of Al Michaels, John Madden and Andrea Kremer doing the Jacksonville-Pittsburgh game at 8pm.

Sunday FOX will have the Giants-Bucs game at 1pm with Joe Buck, Troy Aikman and Pam Oliver. The final playoff game of the weekend CBS has the 4:30pm game between Tennessee and the Chargers with Jim Nantz and Phil Simms doing the honors.
