Amid all the journalists, Cabinet secretaries and members of Congress at Vice President Dick Cheney’s holiday party on Tuesday night, there was one not-just-famous-for-D.C. celebrity on the scene.

That was John Ondrasik, front man for the rock band Five for Fighting, being ushered around the vice presidential mansion by Mitch Bainwol, president of the Recording Industry Association of America.

And that wasn’t the only talent Bainwol was hosting in town this week. RIAA’s own holiday party, at Ibiza on Wednesday, featured Wyclef Jean.

Meanwhile, Washington’s glitterati came out Thursday night for the Washington premiere of “Charlie Wilson’s War.” Hosted by Cokie Roberts at the Uptown Theatre, the event honored Jack Valenti, the longtime chief of the Motion Picture Association of America who died earlier this year.

On the host committee: a who’s who of Washington, from John and Debbie Dingell to Jane and Sidney Harman to Buffy Cafritz to Ann and Vernon Jordan.
