Each week, Yeas & Nays joins Carol Joynt, the host of the Q&A Cafe at Nathans of Georgetown, at various power breakfast spots around the city to see which players are getting their day started with deal-making, networking and glad-handing.

At the Four Seasons, George Will dined with what looked to be a new, young friend of his, based on their “it was nice to meet you” exchange when theyparted. Perhaps exhausted from all the company, the famously shy Will was later spotted grabbing lunch solo at Furin’s in Georgetown.

Former White House Special Counsel and Orrick partner Lanny Davis dined with Allied Capital’s Bill Walton, and Pine Creek Partners’ Rick Rickertsen also was spotted.

Core Capital Partners Jonathan Silver held one of his regular partner breakfasts, with Rockport Capital Chairman Peter Ackerman, who also sits on the Board of Directors of the bipartisan presidential effort, Unity08, stopping by to say hello.

Meanwhile, across town at the Hay Adams, we spied Bill Miller, the young national political director for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Debbie Dingell, president of the General Motors Foundation and wife of the dean of the House, Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., headed a table of seven women.

And at the table next to Dingell’s group, Motion Picture Association of America chief Dan Glickman dined with an unidentified companion, as his industry sweats out the writers’ strike.
