Pigskin pressure
Life is hectic enough for Robert Gates. As secretary of defense, he’s had to deal with a consistently frustrating situation in Iraq.
So the last thing he needs is more stress. But that’s exactly what his favorite football team — Texas A&M — gave him Saturday during the Aggies’ triple overtime win over Fresno State (47-45). You’ll recall that Gates served as president of Texas A&M from 2002 to 2007.
To ease his stress following Saturday’s game, Gates took to the Internet and joined his fellows Aggies in an online forum. Posting as “Ranger45” on the fan site TexAgs.com, Gates subjected his message “Stress” and wrote: “Okay, Ags. I really don’t need that kind of stress right now. But a W is a W. All the best to everyone.”
So come on, Aggies: Keep on winning. Do it for your country. The last thing we need is a stressed-out defense secretary.
