A full Saturday of Caps – Rangers game 5 coverage starts at 9 a.m.

Capitals – Rangers game 5 at 3p.m. Verizon Center

Radio: WFED 1500AM and 106.7FM The Fan

Let me first say kudos to WFED AM 1500 The Flagship home of the Washington Capitals, 106.7FM The Fan who is their FM affiliate as well as to ESPN 980AM. I would also be remiss in not giving major props to Fox Sports Radio 1370AM, the Caps Baltimore station, WNST 1570AM who done a great job with their hockey coverage and to 105.7FM who has also got on board the Rock the Red train.

I have heard more quality hockey talk on radio throughout the region than I have ever heard over the past two weeks and things will only get better.

Saturday 106.7FM The Fan will kick things off early at t 9 am with Morning Skate the Caps call in show, that’s hosted by talented former TSN reporter and now the executive producer of the teams radio Ben Raby. Joining Raby will be The Fans Caps beat reporter  Sky Kerstein.

The action will move from the booth to Verizon Center concourse at 11a.m. when Grant Paulsen and Brian Mitchell take over. The boys will take plenty of calls and I sure have a number of entertaining guests as the carry things up till 2:30p.m they will then send things up to the broadcast booth.

The broadcast will then be taken over by one of the NHL’s best radio crews led by the always entertaining” Ice Man” Steve Kolbe who will handle the play by play along with his insightful sidekick and analyst Ken Sabourin. Joining them as always is the duo of Mike Vogel and Jonathan Warner who will handle all the period breaks as well post game show.

So all along the 1-95 corridor from Richmond to York Caps fans will be able to hear all the action.
