Redskins-Eagles report card

Impact player

Strong safety Kurt Coleman was benched earlier this season. But he made up for it with three interceptions off Rex Grossman. Some — but not all — were easy picks. Usually Coleman was in the right spot and on the first easily outbattled tight end Fred Davis.

Did you notice …

How little success the Redskins had throwing to their receivers? They completed just two to their wideouts in the first three quarters. But John Beck, in his one quarter of action, connected five times to receivers in the fourth.

Under the radar

Running back LeSean McCoy helped control the game with 126 yards on 28 carries. McCoy consistently made Redskins defenders miss with his shifty runs. It made it hard for them to get a clean shot at him.

From the sidelines

Andy Reid’s offense wisely used lots of quick throws and rollouts to keep quarterback Michael Vick away from pressure. It worked as he was not under duress much of the game. Their defense stopped the Redskins with speed.

Mike Shanahan wisely benched Rex Grossman, though it was clear before the fourth interception that a change needed to be made. Grossman has turned the ball over 11 times in five starts and flirted with disaster other times. Time for a new direction.
