Nothing new saying McNabb is overrated

Time to play, “Guess who said it?”

Our contestants are Rush Limbaugh and SI.com columnist Michael Rosenberg.

1. “While the rest of the country saw Donovan McNabb as a franchise quarterback, Philly fans sensed, earlier than most of us, that McNabb was overrated.”

2. “I’m sorry to say this, I don’t think he’s been that good from the get-go.”

Can you guess who said what? Not that it matters as both statements are about the same, but No. 2 was Limbaugh — in 2003 — and was not referenced in the SI.com column this past Monday.

As part of ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown,” Limbaugh opined that Philly’s defense wasn’t being given enough credit and that “the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well.”

All that was seen by the public was “black quarterback” and the firestorm started.

Though Limbaugh might’ve been right in McNabb being overrated, the Redskins should want to keep McNabb around. He’s the best passer this city’s seen in more than a decade and Rex Grossman is certainly not the answer.
