Cheers & Jeers: ‘Pacman’ is back in business

Adam Jones’ reinstatement to the NFL yesterday wasn’t a surprise. Nor has the fact that he’s been on his best behavior since joining the Cowboys.

The word from Dallas is that Jones has mingled well with his new teammates, causing no problems. And it’s not just one player who has taken him under his wing, it’s been the entire organization. It helps that he’s a major playmaker, both at corner and returner.

The good news for Dallas is that Jones has actually started to look more like himself on the field. Earlier this summer he was apparently rusty and his confidence was shaken. But a 24-yard punt return in a preseason game vs. Denver helped restore some of that.

Actually, it was that return that teammate Terrell Owens mimicked in the locker room on HBO’s Hard Knocks Wednesday night. Owens focused on how fast Jones’ feet moved.

Whether or not the good times last, there’s no doubt it’s off to a good start.
