Most airlines suggest you arrive at the airport 90 minutes before your flight is scheduled to depart. Such rules don’t necessarily apply, however, if you’re an A-list actor.

Ben Affleck, who was wandering the halls of Congress on Wednesday to prepare for his role in the upcoming “State of Play,” left Washington for Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon.

Gentle Ben was scheduled for a 5:51 p.m. flight on United Airlines. But according to a Yeas & Nays spy, he rolled up to the curb at Dulles at 5:25 p.m. with — yikes! —only 26 minutes to spare.

Nevertheless, all was well for Affleck. He was escorted around the long line, expedited through security and brought right to his gate.

Affleck had a little extra time, however: According to the flight-status checker on United’s Web site, the weather delayed his flight by 26 minutes. It finally took off at 6:17 p.m.
