Turns out that there is still a buck or two to be wrung from President Bill Clinton’s sex scandals during the 1990s. Two of the principal characters in those tawdry times — Gennifer Flowers and Paula Jones — have made available for purchase, at $1.99 a pop, seven video segments in which they discuss their own experiences with President Clinton and all things about the former first family.
In what they call “Two Chicks Chatting,” the two new buddies (they had only met a short time before filming the videos) discuss not only their relationships with the former president, but also their opinions on politics and the recently concluded Democratic race. And, as is to be expected, the two joke extensively about Bill’s, er, physical characteristics, and in ways not fit for a family newspaper.
They get things started with Jones describing in detail — again — her encounter with Bill in 1993 that launched a thousand pundits. “Am I being videotaped. What am I doing here?” she remembers thinking. “I was just trying to get his mind off of me. I’m just thinking ‘How am I going to get out of this room?’ ”
For her part, Flowers dispels any notions that her Clinton-related fame was a ticket to riches. “What is fame without dignity?” she asks, adding that people now know her more from the scandal than as a “singer or performer.”
One thing’s for sure: Although the race was over, neither had any notions of supporting Hillary for president. “I feel like, that if she can’t even control her womanizing husband, how can she control our country?” Jones said.
“I’ve dreamed that in my lifetime there would be a woman running for the presidency that I could support,” Flowers added. “But not Hillary, and we know why. These people are out for themselves.”
She admits that after growing up in a conservative household, she trended Democratic thanks to the abortion rights issue until her encounter with Bill, which made her “pretty turned off” toward Democrats.
And how do these new BFFs conclude? By emphasizing that they do, in fact, believe each other’s accounts of their time with Clinton.
And, then, Flowers asks Jones for a hug.
