Bob and Mike Bryan’s reign over the world of doubles tennis continued Sunday as the top-ranked duo beat fourth-ranked Paul Hanley and Kevin Ullyett 6-3, 5-7, 10-3, in the Legg Mason Tennis Classic final. The win extended their current winning streak, which began at Wimbledon in late June, to 14 matches.
“We stayed alive at Wimbledon and went on a dream run and completed the career grand slam,” Mike Bryan said. “We’re just trying to go out there and pile on more wins and our confidence is through the roof right now.”

The Bryans looked comfortable early, losing only seven points on serve as they took the first set 6-3.
But Hanley and Ullyett sent the match to a decisive third set, which, as part of the new doubles rules this year, was a first to 10 tiebreak. With Hanley and Ullyett up, 3-2, in the tiebreak, the Bryans reeled off eight straight points to take their fifth title this year.
