Little Debbie
Even appropriators, those most senior, plodding members of Congress, can have a little fun.

On a big day for Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla. — the Legislative Branch subcommittee she chairs was having its bill marked up by the full committee — ranking member Zach Wamp, R-Tenn., decided to lighten the mood a bit.
Wamp’s staff delivered a whole load of Little Debbie snack cakes to the room as she took the gavel (it should be noted that Little Debbie’s parent company is headquartered in Wamp’s district).
“This is in honor of Big Debbie,” said Wamp (it should also be noted that she’s not big at all, but rather thin).
After the hearing concluded, Wasserman Schultz told Yeas & Nays, “Victory on passage of the Legislative Branch Appropriations bill was made even sweeter when the loyal opposition served up dessert.”
In the hearing room, she said of her chair/ranking member relationship with Wamp, “It’s kind of like a marriage and we’ve been on our honeymoon. And at the end of our honeymoon, we might need some counseling.”
Or junk food.
