NICK FALDO

(On Tiger regaining the public’s trust with his statement): One of the things he said when he spoke about Elin is, it is not words, and it is actions. And I think that is the most important thing. He has to come out on tour and show everybody how he is and his whole demeanor to everybody. The bottom line is; he wants to be liked again. That will take a while. People form an opinion of somebody and it doesn’t matter what you do, whether you give them a million dollars to that person or tens of millions to charity…people can still…stick with the same opinion. It is going to take time. A long time I think for people to turn around and actually like him again.

(On dealing with the media covering you family): You really don’t feel why your children should be sucked into this but that’s Hollywood isn’t it? Look at the paparazzi , they follow Tom Cruise and the Beckham’s everywhere…and want to take photos of the kids ….He is going to have to deal with that….He has changed his whole world. He had a wonderful world – and this is what I think it is hurting him. His whole world started in the parking lot at the course. Cameras were on him, how’s your day Tiger? And you go play golf and then he said goodbye…Now his world starts outside his hotel. It is different and as he said caused totally by him

DAVID FEHERTY

I’ve never seen him appear so vulnerable. There are a lot of people who wanted to hear a lot more. There are a lot of people who wanted to ask questions. But this is a private citizen. He is not a John Edward. The American public does not pay his wages. He didn’t have to do this. There is a sense of frustration among the media here that they didn’t get to ask those questions. I was very impressed with what he said. He has always been fiercely protective of his family…I have seem him turn thunderous in the face if anyone approaches them with anything less then respect. He said also that every one has reason to be critical, not everyone, we’re not perfect….we were all wondering here in the golf community when is he going to come back, it seems fairly clearly from this statement that he’s made that Elin Woods, who is an extraordinary woman. Anyone who had the privilege of being around her knew that before this happened. I think she’ll make that decision.

IAN BAKER-FINCH

All in all he addressed every aspect of the entire situation and I thought extremely well. the only thing now we can all speculate on in the golfing world is when he will come back to play…My gut feeling is that he definitely won’t be back until he is ready to perform at a high level. If that takes a year that is when he’ll come back. If it takes 6 months that is when it will be.
