The Caps look to build on Saturday’s crazy 7-2 win over the New Jersey Devils. Tonight it’s the Ottawa Senators in town. Last year that meant trouble as Washington finished 1-1-2 in the season series. New Jersey was the only other Eastern Conference team to best the Caps in a season series last year.

Expect Michal Neuvirth in goal for Washington for the third game in a row. He is 1-1 so far with a .906 save percentage and a 3.02 goals-against average. Pascal Leclaire hasn’t received much help from his teammates in two losses so far. But he’s at least played well enough to get another shot tonight. Leclaire has stopped 67 of 74 shots (.905 save percentage).

Washington coach Bruce Boudreau says the lineup should remain the same as Saturday’s win. That would mean center David Steckel, left wing D.J. King and defenseman Tyler Sloan are out. But we’ll see for sure during warm-ups. One big key – the penalty kill. The Senators were 5-for-12 last season with the man advantage against the Caps.

Washington right wing Alex Semin had five goals and six assists against Ottawa in 2009-10. Left wing Alex Ovechkin had a goal and five assists against them.
