Legendary poet and author Maya Angelou was a guest speaker at the Aging in America Conference in Woodley Park Thursday. Angelou will soon celebrate her 80th birthday, which led her to quip: “I speak of aging because I’m about the business of doing so.”

» And Seal will be the entertainment at this year’s Larry King Cardiac Foundation Gala May 3. Let’s hope he brings wife, Heidi Klum, unlike last time he was in town.
» “Grey’s Anatomy” star Kate Walsh was on Capitol Hill Thursday, lobbying on behalf of Planned Parenthood and arguing for an end to federally funded abstinence-only programs. Walsh later joined actress Blythe Danner and HGTV’s Suzanne Whang in Crystal City for a Planned Parenthood gala.
