Harford, Cecil teams rally in UCBAC

Heading into the last week of the regular season, tennis teams in the Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference are jockeying for position prior to the UCBAC championships.

Unlike other UCBAC championships which pit the Susquehanna Division winner against the upper-echelon Chesapeake Division champ for one team title, the tennis format affords more opportunities for individual and doubles champions.

While C. Milton Wright has been a perennial leader in the Chesapeake, the Mustangs (6-1 in the UCBAC) trail Bel Air (8-0) and hold a slight advantage over Fallston (5-2).

In the Susquehanna Division, Elkton (Cecil County) sits alone in first place with a 9-0 mark, while four teams are battling for second.

Havre de Grace, Joppatowne, Bohemia Manor (Cecil) and Perryville (Cecil) are tied with 4-4 records heading into the final week.

The championships are scheduled from May 9 to May 13 on the neighboring campuses of Harford Tech and Harford Community College.
