RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — The Carolina Hurricanes have agreed to a one-year, two-way contract with forward Jerome Samson.

The team announced the deal on Friday.

Samson will make $600,000 at the NHL level or $105,000 if he is sent to the Hurricanes’ minor-league affiliate in Charlotte. He is guaranteed at least $175,000.

The 24-year-old Samson split last season between Carolina and Charlotte. He had two goals and three assists with the Hurricanes and had 20 goals in the minor leagues.
