But with Gasol back on the floor, the question is: Can the Lakers lose with him?
In Gasol’s two games back, he’s averaged 19.5 points, 10 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 15- and 16-point wins over the Bulls and Thunder.
The Spaniard — and two-time All-Star — could be the most underrated sidekick in the NBA.
His passing skills, ability to hit the jumper from the perimeter and excellent post moves make him the most versatile center in the league.
The Lakers were a heavy favorite to win the West and it seems like the reigning NBA Champions haven’t skipped a beat with Gasol’s return.
With Shaquille O’Neal back East and Yao Ming injured, Gasol would be a nice fit for that vacancy at center on the Western Conference All-Star team.
