Let me tell you about my cousin Chris Conner. He was like all good people from
Chris also loved cars and racing, he worked on them and raced cars throughout the
But most of all he loved his family, his mother and father, his sister and brother and of course his lovely wife and beautiful young son. They were his world and what was most important to him.
This week Chris who was a fierce competitor in all areas of life lost his long battle with cancer and past away at a far too young age.
Here is the thing, I am in the information business and I have access to every possible mode of communication from multiple cell phones to a Blackberry that never leaves my side yet I did not speak to Chris or drop him an email this year.
Many times I thought about it, yet I just never found the time to do it in this all too rapidly moving world.
So my hope is that you will learn from my mistake, because I hope that I have. Life is way too short to forget family and friends.
This weekend you know there are baseball games, hockey and basketball playoffs, NASCAR and the Kentucky Derby complete with the queen.
But make time to call a family member or a friend, drop them a note, sports will be there and you can always checkout SportsCenter. But I have learned that life is very short and those that matter most we need to keep in touch with so join me this weekend and reconnect with someone you have been thinking of, it is worth the time.
