Ravens coach John Harbaugh completed his staff on Wednesday by hiring five assistant coaches.
Greg Mattison will guide the linebackers, Chuck Pagano will lead the secondary, Marwan Maalouf will assist special teams, Bob Rogucki will head the strength and conditioning program and will be assisted by John Dunn.
“There are three qualities we wanted from each coach we hired: first, good people with great character; second, outstanding teachers; and third, football expertise,” Harbaugh said in a statement. “It?s a diverse group in both experience ? with college and the NFL ? and age. It?s a group that has tremendous energy and enthusiasm for winning. They complement each other well.”
Mattison has spent the past three seasons at the University of Florida, where he was the co-defensive coordinator in charge of the defensive line, and brings 32 years of coaching experience to Baltimore.
Pagano spent last season as defensive coordinator at North Carolina after spending the 2006 season as the defensive backs coach for the Oakland Raiders, who led the league in pass defense. Pagano also has been an assistant coach for the University of Miami and the Cleveland Browns.
Rogucki spent the pastthree seasons as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Eagles, where he was on the same staff as Harbaugh. Before arriving in Philadelphia, Rogucki spent 14 years as the strength and conditioning coach for the Arizona Cardinals.
Maalouf was out of the National Football League last year, but spent the previous two seasons as the Cleveland Browns? special teams quality control coach under Ravens? recently hired special teams coach Jerry Rosburg.
Dunn has 22 years of NFL coaching experience, which includes working in the strength and conditioning departments of the Redskins, Giants, Chargers and Raiders.
