Embattled football recruit Antonio Logan-El is returning to Maryland ? Towson to be exact. The offensive lineman from Prince George?s County who gained national notoriety when he spurned the Terps? recruiting efforts on live television before declaring he?d be playing for Penn State, told The Examiner Tuesday that he will be enrolling at Towson University and will suit up for the Tigers this fall.
Coming out of Forestville High in 2006, the 6-foot-6, 310-pound Logan-El was a blue-chip recruit at left tackle. Live on an ESPN broadcast, he chose Penn State over the likes of Maryland, Florida, Tennessee and Oklahoma. Recruiting Web site Scout.com had him listed as a top-five recruit among the nation?s offensive lineman.

As a Division I player transferring to a Division I-AA program, Logan-El can suit up immediately for Towson. He?ll likely fit in at left tackle, where Towson will be trying to replace Jermon Bushrod, who was selected in the fourth round of last weekend?s NFL draft by the New Orleans Saints.
Logan-El confirmed that he was released from his Penn State scholarship after sitting out his freshman season as a redshirt.
Towson?s spring game is Saturday at noon at Unitas Stadium.
