Since Ben Olsen took over D.C. United as interim head coach in August, team president Kevin Payne has maintained that Olsen, who is less than a season removed from his playing career, wouldn’t be considered for the permanent coaching job next season in favor of a more experienced candidate.
But how does Olsen feel about that?
“I don’t want to get into it yet,” Olsen said this week. “Of course, it pops into your brain, but it’s something that, I don’t want to turn this into another circus. I want to talk to management, and we make sure that what’s best for D.C. United is what happens.”
United (5-17-3) has won twice in seven league matches since Olsen took over.
