Out of the Webb
After only two years in the Senate, Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va., has developed a reputation as one member who hasn’t taken to the typical routine of after-hours cocktail parties. So it is at the Democratic National Convention in Denver.
When Webb lands in Denver this afternoon, his time won’t be long in the Mile High City. A Webb representative told us he’s heading out of town early on Wednesday morning, after a scant day and a half in town.
Why? He’s heading to the American Legion’s 90th National Convention in Phoenix.
“Senator Webb’s participation at both the American Legion and Democratic National Conventions will allow him to engage two diverse audiences about his commitment to our nation’s veterans and one of the greatest accomplishments of this Congress — his GI Bill for post-9/11 servicemembers,” said his spokeswoman, Jessica Smith.
