LONDON (AP) — Zhang Jike of China won the men’s Olympic singles table tennis gold medal on Thursday, beating teammate Wang Hao 4-1 in the all-China final.
Dimitrij Ovtcharov of Germany defeated Chuang Chih-yuan of Taiwan 4-2 for bronze.

Li Xiaoxia of China won the women’s singles gold medal on Wednesday, defeating teammate Ding Ning in another China-only decider.
China has dominated table tennis since the game was introduced into the Olympics in 1988. It has now won 22 of 26 gold medals in the sport and is expected to sweep to win two more in the team event.
