Orakpo, Landry questionable for Redskins

Strong safety LaRon Landry (hamstring) and linebacker Brian Orakpo (ankle) both are questionable for Sunday’s game vs. Arizona and are considered game-time decisions, coach Mike Shanahan said Friday. Both were limited in practice Friday.

Linebacker Keyaron Fox (back), who was limited Thursday, practiced Friday and is listed as probable. Six other players were listed as questionable, though all practiced in full Friday: WR Brandon Banks (knee), TE Chris Cooley (knee), CB DeAngelo Hall (back), TE Logan Paulsen (hamstring), WR Donte Stallworth (shoulder) and long snapper Nick Sundberg (hand).

Landry said of his return: “It’s possible. We’ll see what happens. We’ve got 48 hours. From day to day it’s getting better.”

But the problem for Landry is that he has not practiced in full since training camp opened. Shanahan has said he’s grown more conservative over the years when it comes to players returning from injury.

Orakpo, though, played on his sprained ankle for almost the entire season-opening win over the New York Giants. He said he’s “always optimistic” about his chances of playing. He’s in a better spot than Landry, considering he hasn’t missed any time yet and did play all of Sunday.

“Meds do a body wonders,” Orakpo said.”Adrenaline gets you going when it’s that day.”

But Orakpo said when he woke up Monday, his ankle felt a lot worse.

“But it got better as the week went on,” Orakpo said.
