Skins @ Eagles: Fourth quarter review

Final: Eagles 27, Redskins 24

1st Qtr | 2nd Qtr | 3rd Qtr | 4th Qtr

» Brent Celek has dropped three straight passes thrown his way. He should be used to catching passes in traffic. He’s killed drives with his hands.

» Chris Wilson’s speed helped Justin Tryon get the interception. Wilson, lining up at left end, sprinted around the edge and hit the ball as Donovan McNabb attempted to throw.

» Have to check the stats later, but the Redskins seem to have done a good job on first down. That’s a key to any offensive success.

» The Redskins are outplaying the Eagles and an eight-point lead is good. But you wonder if they should have been a little more aggressive inside the 20-yard line.

» The Eagles drove downfield too fast for a 90-yard drive. It only took four minutes, 18 seconds and most of that came from the 1-yard line. That was too easy.

» Eagles fans are booing every mishap. Even the time out before the two-point conversion was booed by more than a few fans. They didn’t boo after the successful try.

» With Fred Smoot and Justin Tryon both out with injuries, rookie Kevin Barnes was in at corner on the two-point conversion. If he has to play from scrimmage, that could be a scary proposition for the coaches.

» Hunter Smith is getting distance on his punts, but a few have been line drives, which is uncharacteristic.

» Carlos Rogers was simply beaten off the line of scrimmage. Maclin was too quick off the line and Rogers didn’t have a chance. He played tight, but could not get his hands on him for a jam.

» The loss of Haynesworth was felt once again. Too many yards up the middle of the defense.

» Cole dominated Jones in the second half. Nothing fancy, either. Just used speed most of the time or would get into him and then go around; Jones just could not react. His footwork is not all that good right now.

» Juqua Parker also had a strong second half and drilled Campbell into the ground on the fourth down pass. Parker owned Edwin Williams.
