It takes four years (or more) to get a degree from a regular university, but the Center for American Progress Action Fund’s “McCain University” on Monday educated attendees on Sen. John McCain’s policies in a single morning.

At the presentation, four expert panels spoke on the main issues of the upcoming presidential campaign (economic policy, health care policy, foreign policy and energy policy), and the negative comments far outweighed any positive thoughts about McCain.

On earmarks: “For him to fill the hole he’s creating with earmarks is bringing a thimble to a crater.” (Jared Bernstein, director of the Living Standards Program at the Economic Policy Institute)

On McCain’s health care credits: “Those credits are a little bit like a bridesmaid dress, which flatters nobody and fits nobody.” (Karen Davenport, director of health policy for the Center for American Progress).

On energy policy: “The last time I was online was at noon, and it is possible John McCain has changed his positions in the last hour.” (Joseph Romm, senior fellow for the Center for American Progress).
