Baltimore native Malcolm Delaney has averaged 23.6 points in his last seven games for the Hokies (16-7, 6-3 Atlantic Coast Conference), only a hair more than his team-high 23 points in a midweek win over Georgia Tech, the same team that the Terrapins (15-8, 4-5) squeaked by on Monday night.

» George Washington head coach Karl Hobbs said he’s not looking at the Atlantic 10 Conference standings after Wednesday’s loss to La Salle. But the Colonials (7-14, 1-8 A-10) remain three games adrift of a spot in the postseason with seven games to play, and the strain showed at times against the Explorers.
“At times we got a little tight and didn’t play as loose as we needed to,” said Hobbs.
Sitting one spot ahead of the last-place Colonials, the 49ers (8-15, 2-7) one of three teams sitting in the bottom half of the A-10 that George Washington will face down the stretch.
