Round typical for Mickelson, scorecard not

Phil Mickelson has been all over the course, which is typical. But his scorecard looks like steady Nick Faldo in his prime – three birdies and 11 pars. With a 2-stroke lead on clubhouse leader Anthony Kim and with four holes to go, it’s a formula that’s likely to get Lefty his third green jacket.

He’ll look sweet in his all black ensemble – like a Philadelphia Eagle. K.J. Choi, also in all black, was thinking the same thing, but his bogey at No. 13, where he fired into the dastardly back bunker, was a killer.

With his wife and mother battling cancer over the past year, this is going to be Mickelson’s most emotional Masters victory.
