“Ultimate Fighting Club”?
The UFC is butt-kicking, gloves free cage fighting that has become the fastest growing sport in the country and a huge hit on cable. UFC President Dana White sat down for an interview that appears in Playboy this month and explained the McCain connection.
“John McCain created the UFC,” said White, who goes on to explain that McCain – who once called the UFC “human cockfighting” – and others applied enough pressure, that the UFC decided to institute stricter rules and, as a result, become a huge hit nationally.
When asked by Playboy if he’d ever thanked McCain, White replied, “I walked up to him at a boxing match and said, ‘I’m Dana White from the UFC.’ He mumbled hello. The guy’s running for president; he doesn’t give a [REDACTED] about me.”
