Jim Williams: MLB Network is ready to hit deadline

One of the most exciting times of the Major League Baseball season is watching who will get moved before the trade deadline — Sunday at 4 p.m. The MLB Network will air more than 10 hours of live coverage on Sunday starting at 11:30 a.m. with look-ins at games in progress and updates on rumors and moves through the deadline.

John Entz, the senior vice president of production for MLB Network, assured that they won’t miss a thing.

“We will have Peter Gammons, Jon Heyman, Ken Rosenthal and Tom Verducci all in offices where we will have cameras allowing them the freedom to work the phones, computers and get us the information the moment they have it,” Entz said. “We will go right to them for updates instantly. They will of course be on set when the deadline expires and help us breakdown all of the trades and player moves. Most importantly giving us insight on how all the moves will affect the divisional races.”

MLB Network will have cameras set up at all the ballparks for reaction from players and front offices upon any announcements.

“Instant analysis from the teams involved with the trades is so important,” Entz said. “Having cameras at the parks will give us a decided advantage over everyone else and allow us to get the key people involved in the trade on the air as quickly as possible.”
