Orioles right fielder Nick Markakis went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored to lead the offense. Markakis drove in his 72nd and 73rd runs of the season, with his average climbing to a team-high .303.

By manager Dave Trembley to pinch-hit for Juan Castro in the seventh inning. Luke Scott came through with a double in place of the light-hitting shortstop, and would eventually come around to score.

Aubrey Huff came up with a hit. Huff drove in a run with a sacrifice fly Tuesday, but his 19-game hitting streak came to an end. Huff batted .390 (30-for-77) during the streak. He went 0-for-3 with a strikeout to halt his career-long streak.
