Ryan Wilson: Week one could have shown plenty

Week 1 in the NFL has come and gone, and there was a lot we can learn. The Bears?, Chargers? and Ravens? defenses look really good. Terrell Owens can post respectable fantasy numbers with any QB, and Donovan McNabb doesn?t need him.

Jamal Lewis looks good, and Clinton Portis can take a hit. Edgerrin James didn?t make a mistake going to Arizona, and Kurt Warner can get both Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin the ball. Reggie Bush may not be a rookie bust, and Laurence Maroney could give Corey Dillon owners the blues.

Randy Moss and Lamont Jordan owners should be very concerned. The Raiders? offensive line doesn?t look like it could block a Pop Warner defensive front.

Larry Johnson owners should be concerned, too. Trent Green took a vicious hit and will miss at least one game, LJ likely will be facing eight- and nine-man fronts now.

Despite all this, don?t make any drastic moves just because things didn?t go as well as you planned.

Give them the ball

» Joe Horn. He had a disappointing week one, but he should break out against a weak Packers defense that gave up 252 passing yards to the Bears last week.

» Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne: Last week, Donte Stallworth had a field day with the Texans defense. Wayne and Harrison are better receivers and could post better numbers. Look for both to have 100-yard days and at least one TD.

» Carson Palmer: In the Bengals? home opener, Palmer should be able to throw for at least 250 yards and two scores. His favorite target, Chad Johnson, makes his job a lot easier.

» Jamal Lewis: The Ravens should put this game in the books early, meaning they will be looking to eat up a lot of clock with the running game.

» Ravens? Defense: The unit is better than the Chargers?, and look what they did to the Raiders this week.

Show them the pine:

» Fred Taylor: The Steelers? defense looked great against the Dolphins, and they?ll make things difficult for Taylor and the Jaguars.

» Kevin Jones: Things don?t get an easier for Jones when the Lions face the Bears. He was only able to post 35 yards against the Seahawks.

» LaMont Jordan: See “Ravens defense” above.

» Drew Bennett: Still no consistency at QB, and a tough Chargers D makes for bad fantasy numbers.

Good luck in Week 2 … and keep in mind, I?m only an accountant.
