Jaguars’ Alexander steps down

Falls Church field hockey coach Brooke Alexander has resigned after three seasons with the Jaguars. She is planning to enter a graduate program in counseling at Wake Forest University this fall.

“It’s been a very sad part of my decision,” said Alexander of leaving behind the field hockey team, which won the National District Tournament this past fall and finished 11-9-1. Alexander guided Falls Church to a district title in her first season. Second team All-Examiner junior midfielder Minnie Wodatch will be the Jags’ top returning player next season.

She also coached the girls soccer team for three years, and was an assistant for two seasons prior to that. The Jaguars girls soccer team is currently 1-5-1 under new coach Chris Jones.
