The NBC Today Show started the coverage of the Winter Olympics off this morning with a fun feature that saw host Meredith Vieira doing a little blushing. (I will get to that in a minute)
Vieira went on a “Girl’s night out,” with Today’s National correspondent Natalie Morales and guest Olympic analyst and figure skating great Kristi Yamaguchi. The trio set out to have a good time on the town in Vancouver.
Their first stop was a trendy club where the three had a few drinks and enjoyed chatting with the locals and Morales tried to talk Yamaguchi to try a few dance moves that she learned as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars. The three clearly are good dancers but after a little dancing it was off to a concert .
Top recording artists the Bare Naked Ladies were performing at event downtown with our “NBC Girls Night Out,” trio rocking the night away in the front row. Then back stage for some time chatting with the band and some good natured fun.
Lastly they took a cruise around Vancouver at night seeing all the sights from the harbor, all in all the night seemed to be a great success.
But the real fun came this morning after the feature aired as Yamaguchi dubbed the 56 year old Vieira a “Vancougar.” A title that the attractive host told her husband back at home she neither deserved nor earned.
It was a fun feature and just for the record I do think that should she ever wish to be Vieira could clearly be a Vancougar.
