The Caps have made noise in recent days about finding ways to win despite sometimes giving less than their best effort. Can they put together a complete game tonight against the Bruins? Vezina Trophy winner-turned-backup-turned-No. 1 goalie Tim Thomas will have something to say about that. He is 2-0 with an obscene .50 goals-against average and a .984 save percentage. Washingon counters with rookie Michal Neuvirth, who has been so good teammate Semyon Varlamov can’t get any ice time even though he’s healthy finally. Neuvirth is 4-1 with a 2.16 goals-against average and a .930 save percentage. Not Tim Thomas numbers, I guess, but fantastic nonetheless. Washington is without defenseman Mike Green again. Defenseman Tom Poti is back in the lineup. Rookie John Carlson is also set to go after taking a shot off his leg Saturday against Nashville. Forward Boyd Gordon is a healthy scratch.
