Barry bounced from Harrison Ford event

Just because you’re “mayor for life” doesn’t mean you’re always on the list. Just ask D.C. Councilmember Marion Barry.

The Ward 8 stalwart showed up at Union Station on Thursday night for Conservation International’s D.C. Environmental Gala, which featured Harrison Ford and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, among other boldfaced names.

Just one problem: Barry wasn’t on the list. According to eyewitnesses, he told security he was there for another event. But it was all for naught. They didn’t let him in.

Barry’s spokesman did not respond to a request for comment.

As for Ford, the notoriously publicity-shy actor worked the room severaltimes — perhaps emboldened by the cocktails he was sipping — and talked to endless numbers of fans.
