Dibble speaks on being taken off the air in D.C. and being asked to throw at Barry Bonds

Just when you thought you’d heard the last of the Rob Dibble/Stephen Strasburg situation.

Dibble, now a Sirius-XM radio host and former Nationals color analyst & MLB reliever, appeared on the Tuesday edition of FOXSports.com’s “Barfly” program hosted by Mark Kriegel — the show is part of the very popular “Lunch With Benefits” series.

In a very candid, and entertaing show Dibble speculated that it was an email from Strasburg’s father to the Lerner family that got him taken off the air.

It is great show and worth your time. Dibble is as fun and as interesting as ever. He all talks about Barry Bonds – saying that during Bonds’ playing days in Pittsburgh, Bonds’ own teammates would ask opposing pitchers to hit Barry.

“I like Barry personally. He’s never been bad to me and has always been respectful to my wife and I, etc so I deal with him on a different level. When he was with the Pirates, his teammates would come to Norm Charlton and I and say, ‘we’ll give you a steak dinner if you hit him.’”

Dibble never hit Bonds. Here is a link to the Barfly show (which starts off with talk about Bonds):
