Fans can bet on history being set at the new Yankee Stadium — literally.
BetUs.com has provided odds on when landmark events will happen at the Bronx Bombers’ new home. The first to hit a home run at the new ball park? Alex Rodriguez has 3-1 odds, followed by Bobby Abreu at 5-1, Johnny Damon at 7-1, Robinson Cano at 8-1 and Jose Molina at 10-1.
As for the pitchers, Chien-Ming Wang has 20-1 odds to throw the new venue’s first no-hitter. He is followed by Joba Chamberlain at 30-1, Mike Mussina at 45-1 and Andy Pettitte at 50-1.
The new stadium also has pretty good odds to see its first World Series next October. BetUs.com lists a World Series appearance at 6-1 next year for the Yankees, and a win at 9-1 odds.
But the real question fans want answered is obvious — who will throw out the first pitch? The favorite is Yankee legend Yogi Berra at 5-1, followed by Regis Philbin at 6-1, owner George Steinbrenner at 7-1, Whitey Ford at 10-1, Derek Jeter at 15-1, Billy Crystal at 20-1 and Roger Clemens at 50-1.
