Bad weather blankets some teams

Last week was the semifinals in several Fantasy formats, but due to bad weather in several cities, some of the season’s top performers were not able to post their usual numbers. In
Foxborough, Mass., the cold, rain and wind proved that
Patriots quarterback
Tom Brady is not like postal service ? he couldn?t deliver a touchdown pass for the first time this season. He threw for only 140 yards and had an interception against the
Jets. Obviously his poor performance affected
Randy Moss (79 yards) and
Wes Walker (30 yards), who combined for only eight receptions. This effort caused several of the top teams in Fantasy leagues to make early playoff exits. In The Examiner league, Sean Welsh’s mighty Pratt Street Pigeons hit a wall with the Patriots? bad offensive display.

There might be big trouble brewing in “Big D” as Tony Romo?s thumb injury must be worse than first thought. The Cowboys? QB completed only 13-of-36 passes last week against the Eagles and had three interceptions. And even though it was only Dallas? second loss, it didn’t take Terrell Owens long to start whining on the sideline about his two-catch, 37-yard receiving performance. As usual, when things don?t go TO?s way, he starts crying.

I have to assume that Brian Westbrook must have received quite a bit of hate mail from Fantasy owners on Monday. His play toward the end of the game Sunday, where he chose to stop and kneel at the 1-yard line instead of scoring ? so the Eagles could run out the clock ? probably cost some owners a heartbreaking Fantasy playoff loss.

Good luck in the playoffs, see you next year ? and keep in mind I’m only an accountant.
