Book boasts

The front row of a book discussion on a Friday night wasn’t where one would expect to find a giggling bunch of college-age groupies. They weren’t even here for the new “Harry Potter.”

No, Kristin Gore (daughter of Al) spoke to the eager crowd at Politics & Prose and took questions from the audience after reading a passage from her book “Sammy’s House.” The book, a sequel to 2004’s “Sammy’s Hill,” deals with what her bloodline knows best: politics and a presidency. But Al’s little girl made it clear to the audience that what it was buying was a work of fiction.

“I invented all of this,” Gore told Yeas & Nays when asked just how much of this literature was actually literature. “I do think we write what we know, and I obviously grew up around all of this stuff, so it’s more familiar to me.”

Then Gore said something that made us think she may have a shot at going pro in the political realm: “I kinda love being a professional liar,” Gore said of her author status. “I just put it out there and see how it’s received. That’s how I roll.”
