OK I am ready for baseball and we can watch today.
The MLB Network has already started their 83 spring training games and we can watch the Dodgers face the Angles in the Cactus League at 3p.m. or maybe you would rather see the Phillies take on the Yankees tonight at 8p.m. from Clearwater in a Grapefruit League game. Hey there is only about 80 more to go before Opening Day.
A tape delay of the Nationals and the Mets will air Monday night at 9:30p.m. on MLB Network.
MASN Nats action starts March 6th against the Braves in the first of five Spring Training games. The Orioles will also have five games from Florida on MASN with the first game coming against the Yankees on Monday March 7th.
Washington will have a new Flagship station this year with their games on 106.7FM The Fan as the new home however WFED 1500AM which has served as the home of the Nats will also air the games when there are no Caps and Wizards conflicts.
That will give the Nats great coverage on AM and FM and get rid of the local areas that had coverage issues. Plus having the games on a sports talk station should help their ability to generate some local buzz.
As for the Spring training broadcasts we expect to announce that later this week.
The Orioles have also changed Flagship stations and they are back on WBAL –AM 1090 with 16 spring training broadcasts. The first game of the spring is airing live Monday against the Pirates at 1:30p.m. The DC outlet for the O’s is ESPN 980AM so check their website for games and times.
All of both the Nationals and Orioles regular season broadcasts will air either on MASN or MASN2 and once again they will all be broadcast in high definition.
FOX, ESPN, TBS, and the MLB Network will be airing regular season broadcasts that will bring national games into the market. So with MASN and their over 300 regular season games of the local teams, plus the national broadcasts that pushes the amount of games on TV to well over 500 games.
Now if that is not enough baseball for you or your favorite team is not the Nationals or the Orioles then let me suggest a couple of options to you.
Sirius – XM is a good option because they also offer the NFL, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, college sports and soccer so look into their subscriptions plus of course music and talk. Well worth checking out and I have been a subscriber for over 5 years.
A great deal is at MLB.com where they offer both a TV and radio options that again I strongly recommend. The broadband video is super and since it is on your computer and if like me you have laptop then you are good to go. You can watch multiple games at one time if you wish.
Lastly also a good deal offered by both DirecTV and cable is the “MLB Extra Innings” package most of the games are in HD and again if you are the uber baseball fan check it out.
