Baseball brings Rs and Ds together

After a one-year hiatus, GOP pollster Frank Luntz resurrected his annual All-Star Game party on Tuesday night, bringing out Washington’s Republican establishment. Among them: former White House spokesman Scott McClellan, power lobbyists Frank Fahrenkopf and Bob Livingston, and Reps. Darrell Issa, Tom Feeney and John Duncan.

Oh sure, there were some liberals on hand, too: Arianna Huffington, Eleanor Clift and Rep. Brad Sherman.

Besides a few innings of baseball and all the hotdogs and beef tenderloin sandwiches they could want, guests were able to take a stroll around Luntz’s vast collection of political and pop culture memorabilia (sometimes referred to as the “Luntz Wing of the Smithsonian”). New additions this year: a letter from Winston Churchill, a handwritten note from a JFK suitor, a guitar signed by every member of the Eagles and a blackjack table signed by every actor to play James Bond.
